Introduction
Teresa Teng is a TV drama adapted from the true story of Teresa Teng, depicting her legendary and inspirational journey in pursuit of her dreams. On a winter morning in 1953, in a military dependents' village in Taiwan, the fourth child of the Teng family, nicknamed "Ya Tou" (played by Michelle Chen), was born. Ya Tou's talent for singing became evident at a young age, but her father, Teng Shu, was firmly opposed to it. After retiring from the military, Teng Shu started a street market stall business. Ya Tou, unable to understand her father's feelings of depression and homesickness, became his little helper, selling buns and steamed bread. After finishing elementary school, she failed to get into junior high. However, she had already won a radio singing competition and became a regular performer on a singing program. Teng Shu had a dispute with gangsters at the market, which led to a violent confrontation, injuries, and even a lawsuit. Late at night, Teng Shu and his wife lamented that all their struggles were due to not having a permanent store. Hearing this, Ya Tou felt deeply for her parents. She signed a contract as a singer and used her advance salary to secure a storefront for her father. Teng Shu was deeply moved upon learning this. Ya Tou eventually took the stage and received widespread acclaim for her performances.
